As Good as Hooky

I pulled off attending a metal show while on-call. No calls/messages
plus the on site personnel handled things. Really happy as I hit Dallas city limits around 0130.

Showing up on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives really is a mixed blessing. Baltimordor has managed to get a few joints on there. I think that's the only Food Network show I'll watch, Guy Fierri is kind of a hipster d-bag, but he's one of the cooler hipster d-bags I've seen on tv.

re: Majestas - I like this. Alot. Kinda reminds me of old Darkthrone.

Baltimordor -hahahahaha!!!

3D, I only watch if there's a TX joint. I like how it's the owner showing the ropes. Usually they're not the
ones doing the day-to-day work any more. Esp. in TX.

Venues are warned about the "Triple D effect". This place should've stopped taking orders over the phone.
It looks like they did expand the dining room but the prep issue is funny. Next time, I'll hit the place at 5pm
if I'm back in that neck of the woods.

I'd say give them a few weeks for the buzz to wear off. Out of the three local joints they've had on Triple D, 1 was worked day to day by the owner, a hot dog joint in old Highlandtown called G and A (http://www.yelp.com/biz/g-and-a-restaurant-baltimore). The other 2 (a seafood joint and an old school diner in Dundalk) have "chefs". The Irish Pub in Annapolis they featured has a "chef".

yeah... I stole the Baltimordor joke from a chick I knew when I used to go to a goth club. Baltimurder is interchangeable but less accurate as they've gotten the city's crime rate to more manageable levels.

Maryland isn't known for food really... steamed crabs i guess...

Found a nice pizza place way out in Western Md when I went to visit a friend. Hell of a drive though.

It had been a few weeks. Unfortunately, FN re-ran the show Friday night.
Weird that people in front and behind me weren't from Arlington.
I was only there because of my friends's show, leveraging the trip.
Those people had no life.

despite the diner shitfest, sounds like a good time. Maiestas is interesting -- I bet they would be killer at a good venue.

I'd be inclined to suggest them for MDF if i still posted in that forum.

I wonder if MDF charges lesser known bands to play?
It is an ideal launching point for unknowns.

That i am not sure of.

At $180 a ticket, they shouldnt be... but they've cut back the number of bands while increasing the price. I get the impression that the guy is wringing what he can out of a declining festival.

I'm known to be rather negative tho...
