Cool…But No Wailing Willie Boys
Albert was on PadreDiablo’s hit list for beer and I’m always up for a new place. Evidently, there’s a town for sale -completely legit and it’s Albert TX. It’s like Luckenbach but, without a hit song to drive people to, its middle-of-nowhere-ness. This is “around the corner” for PadreDiablo, hence the visit.
I don’t suggest this place as a destination but it’s nice during fair weather. The icehouse's backyard is covered by a 500-year-old oak, which is the main draw -at least for me. Trees are cool and not just because of the Rush song.
If it goes out of business, just show up and park with a six pack and hang out in the backyard. Who’s going to know?
