...damnit.

So, my favorite barn cat had been limping for awhile, but he's "just a barn cat," so no one would take him to the vet. Finally, my friend Kate and I decided to take him to the vet.

Long story short, he has a broken foot and feline immunodeficiency disorder (FIV, which is basically feline HIV). He can't go back to the barn, can't be outside, and shouldn't be around other cats.

BUT

I can't keep him, really. I mean, he's been in my apartment since Friday night, which is fine, but I can't keep him much longer. So I'm trying to find him a home, because even though the disease will eventually rear its ugly head and complicate things, he is only 3 years old and has at least a few healthy years in him, as long as whoever takes him takes really good care of him.

Problem is, I can't find anyone who will take him, and that includes no-kill shelters.

I thought I had a home for him on 2 separate occasions this week, but those both fell through.
He is by far the sweetest cat I have ever known (a little clingy, though). Around here, most people just put down FIV positive cats, but he is too sweet for me to do that without feeling incredibly guilty.

If anyone wants a wonderful (if slightly high-maintenance) cat or knows anyone who can take him, please let me know ASAP! If I don't find a home for him by this weekend, he will most likely have to be put down.
