We'll take whatever you can give.....................

About half an hour ago the doorbell rang. It was the Chairman of the Board.

The high winds in this part of the country are affecting many places.

And the roof is coming off the Retreat House.

Seriously, we'll take whatever prayers you can muster - you, your church prayer chain, your workmates and your neighbours.

And pray we can weather the blast - this is not really the stressor we had in mind at the moment and I'm feeling pretty scared in some parts of myself.
UPDATE 1300h UK time

Well............at 10 am, the roof was about 50% off. DT went out with the Chair and the surveyor was there too. Thank God we are all on one site and SGL was there right away. As I write, two more skips have just been delivered and there are contractors on site clearing what can be cleared. Although it rained heavily for about half an hour around 1100 at the moment the weather has calmed down slightly and the sky is clearing which will make things easier for the guys who are tidying up. It is still pretty windy though, and gusty, which is what causes the problems. After I'd written this I was updating somewhere else and heard the roof go from 50% to about 75% ....honestly sounded like someone ripping the top off a box. The rest went shortly afterwards. When I first went out to see I wanted to cry because it just looks so awful. But later on I went up to take some stuff to DT and had a look - the repair that was last done to the roof left the old roof underneath and there is only one small part where it's taken that with it. DT is in touch with the insurance people and he's come home again now as he can't really do anything else at the moment.
For my part I have tried to keep things normal here, keep things going, keep c.a.l.m. more than anything else. I feel easier now having seen what's going on, the sitution is under control and as much as can be done is being done. I made a couple of phonecalls to help out and stuff like that. I'm still a bit freaked out - I don't like high winds anyway and always feel weird when they are on.
If it's handled right the whole thing should actually be fairly simple and realising that has helped a lot too. DT is a bit shocky, but he's handling it and doing GREAT! He should be proud of himself.

Thanks to everyone who has texted and called and stuff - I think I might have missed a call or two around midday, if it was you, call back later if you can. We truly appreciate all your love and prayers.
