Beefy Holidays!
LOL! Saying that still cracks me up. People look at me confused, but once they hear "holidays" they figure that I mean well and smile anyway. However, I don't know why they look at me with the same look of pity you give a retarded child who just dropped his ice cream cone. Mmmmmmmm, ice cream. LOL!
Anyway, as usual, sorry I haven't updated in ages, but this time I have a good reason.
I decided to so something special for the holiday season. Something that would be a labor of love. Something that would combine my 3 favorite holiday things: gingerbread houses, building forts out of couch cushions, and LARP'ing.
See, anyone can build a cute gingerbread house and enter it some contest in an attempt to win a free Hickory Farms gift basket (I swear that competition's rigged), but they never "raise the bar" as it were. I have been putting in overtime at Herfy's so I can have extra money for this project. I have spent the last 4 months making 2' by 3' (that's the biggest cookie sheet I could find) gingerbread slats, and have been constructing a couch cushion size fort in my living room. It's almost done except for a couple more shingles and a chocolate frosting "Keep Out!" sign. LOL!
Once finished, I will celebrate the season by crawling inside of it on Xmas eve, and when I awake on Xmas, my plan will come to fruition when I role-play that I am a POW in Iraq, and I have to eat my way out of my cell. Of course I'll, I mean my character, will have to eat the entire thing so that there is no evidence for ALL K-DA to find, LOL!
Well, if I get done with my construction before it's time to "bunker down", I'll update you with some classic holiday treats and maybe even some new ones, depending on how the 'ol genius switch is working, LOL!
