Week 8 Comment on Chris' Poem
Hi Chris...
I also really liked your poem... I am of a Greek background but have only had 1/2 a Greek friend (She is 1/2 South American). Anyway, I have to say having cultural understanding really is so important in this world. Of course I still have the Greek influence... My father will never allow me to let that go!!! Which is important but all my fun memories with friends have been of all different cultures.
I have to thank my two best friends for their cultural contributions to me...
Shelyn (Filipino background) - Her mum's spring rolls and pancit (noodles)
Daniela (South American background) - Churos yummmm (It's like a SA style sugar coated donut but in a different shape, hard to describe)
Anyway so basically I really enjoyed your poem and especially for the reason that it was clearly based on or influenced by one of your personal experiences. I am a strong believer that anything a writer writes is written like that because of their personal experiences. AND if we were going to judge my experience by that last sentence where I used three different forms of the verb "write" we would say I had a lack of grammatical education... hahaha Thanks again for your poem. Nice to know the great value you place on multiculturalism and racial acceptance.
