It’s rather quiet around here. :( Everything OK?
Like everyone else seems to be saying, I can’t believe it’s September. Well, hello fall! I love you. Spring and fall are by far my favorite seasons.
Yesterday was our Happy Anniversary. Fred and I both took the day off. Like my birthday, I don’t think I should work on such a special occasion so we have agreed that we will take it off every year from this point on. :happy sigh:
On Tuesday night I picked up a cake made by the person who did our wedding cake. (Gail Watson). It’s gorgeous. For some reason I did not expect it to be decorated. I thought we’d just get a plan frosted cake since they never asked me anything about decoration. This is a high end operation so I wasn’t going to ask for something. Tisk. Tisk. Needles, I was very surprised when I opened the box and found a cake with piping. It was very simple and modern, which I adore. It’s super yummy though the frosting is not the best. Whatever, we’ve been eating it for two days and still have half left. Tonight I will be having dark chocolate cake for dinner with white chocolate filling and buttercream icing.
On Wednesday, our anniversary, we slept in two hours. :another happy sigh: Then we got all dolled up, after some bickering, and heading to Time Square. We stood in the rush line for tickets to a play and I was the first person called. I screamed and screamed. Then I jumped up and down. We got first row tickets to see the afternoon showing of Rent. While we waited for the show we had lunch - seafood. Yum! I had lots of liquor. Yum again! Then we went to the play. We agree that it was good but by no means our favorite. Then Fred headed off to his evening class and I came home.
When we were at lunch I had called my mom and she kept asking me why I wasn’t at work. She forgot it was our anniversary and she’s usually so good about these things. Then later on Fred called his mother and she said she thought we were married in September? Gee, thanks for remembering our wedding day.
We have not exchanged gifts, maybe this weekend. This weekend I also have a wedding. I think this will be my last Labor Day wedding for a few years. I’d actually like to go somewhere the weekend of our anniversary for once. However, this wedding is going to be fabulous. This is one of our most creative brides and I have been anticipating this wedding for months. I will try my darndest to get some good photos for my blog.
Sand - good luck with your wedding this weekend.
In TTC news - I think I should be O’ing in the next week. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. Please.
