I was extremely disappointed with the new Therion album, too. The new lineup just doesn't have the same energy that Therion had with the Niemann brothers and Mats Leven. Not only that, I think the mixing isn't very well done, it sounds thin and weak, not heavy and powerful like 'Lemuria/Sirius B' and 'Secrets of the Runes'. No strong musical hooks and completely missing the masterful blend of heavy guitars, symphony and choir that is the trademark of Therion.

They tried to make a step backwards to the albums Deggial and Voivin and they failed. Instead they should have gone forward. Will be interesting to see where they will go from now.

Voivin is a good album ('Wine of Aluqah' is just about my favorite Therion song), and the strong composing just isn't there in the new album. I think they need to stay away from having vocal personalities, the music is becoming too lead-singer-centric. Their new guitarist is nowhere near as good as Kristian Niemann either, the guy could play the hell out of the guitar, he had training in jazz guitar and really could pull out some great melodic lines and still play heavy.

"Order of the Black" and "Poetry for the Poisoned" are both on heavy rotation for me. Excellent albums. Now Kamelot needs to get Khan off his butt and do that North American tour they canceled !! I was totally gonna get tickets to the Jaxx show for that.

Unfortunately it seem that Khan will take longer than people thought to recover. They are gonna do a tour now with the singer from Rhapsody of Fire on leadvocals.

That's a shame. It was Khan's vocals that originally drew me to Kamelot. The dude can sing like no one else.
