Adventfic #8: Out of the Spotlight

Senshi Mercury is supposed to be standing by the side of her queen right now. The red Martians and the green Martians wish to renew the legendary peace from John Carter's day before Neo-Queen Serenity. All of the senshi should be there, to show their support. So will many of the elected officials from throughout the Crystal Kingdom; it's going to be a logistical nightmare, with security almost entirely focused on the palace.
"It's going to be tonight," Rubeus's voice growled through her earpiece. "They're moving the kids tonight. You want to get them back, you've got to get down here."
"How did you find them?" she murmurred even as she walked out one of the side-gates, dressed too simply to possibly be anyone of importance.
"Guys like me can go places ladies like you can't. Comes of being a scumbag."
