Ultra Magnus doesn't know what to do. He knows what he wants to do - he wants to gather the ivory-armored mech in his arms and hold him. But he can't do that. He can't do that, because the mech standing on his doorstep is Rodimus Nova.
Except Rodimus should be white-and-gold, not ivory-and-silver. It scares Ultra Magnus to imagine what that means that he's still wearing these colors.
"Come in," he says after a beat too long. He steps aside, and Rodimus creeps inside, and-
-and he doesn't know what to do. They rescued Rodimus from Galvatron. Well, they picked up Rodimus and pointed guns at Galvatron's troop after Rodimus already escaped himself. But the Nova had lost his brilliant colors during his captivity, and there was only one reason why that could have happened.
Primus should have accepted his consort back, though. No one could blame Rodimus for what happened-
"Thank you," Rodimus says, his voice worn. "I didn't know where else to go."
"The temple-"
"I'm not going back to the temple," he says with a sudden fierceness. "Rodimus Prime fought. Rodimus Void fought. I will not hide while the Decepticons attack our people!"
Ah.
Ultra Magnus does know what to do. "I know an old mech who can turn a freshpaint into a soldier. We'll go meet him tomorrow."
