I thought they were gone because I had a few good runs last week, but alas.... no. My runs on Sunday and Wednesday turned out to be incredibly painful. So despite my wishes to keep logging miles, I am back to rest and cross-training (swimming and biking).
It is becoming incredibly frustrating. This has been going on for weeks now, and I'm very behind on logging my miles, but all I can do is keep resting them to try to recover. It's heartbreaking, really. I've been working so hard up until now, and the race date gets closer and closer, yet all I can do is just sit and wait.
I am supposed to do 6 miles with the group on Saturday. And I will be there, of course, to try it out. But I will have to be strong and make myself stop if I feel any pain. Boy, this sucks.
In other news, we had a really successful fundraiser on Monday night. I hosted a benefit event at a local bar, Good Time Charley's. There was a great turnout, with a bunch of drink/food specials to enjoy and some prizes to take home. In the end, I raised over $800, bringing my unofficial total to over $3300. I'm feeling more and more confident that I can not only reach my minimum goal of $3900, but I can also reach my stretch goal of $5000. This is great!
