Bye bye Olympics, have fun in Rio! London will miss you

Three good guesses what I've been watching (and reading up on) for the last two (or so) weeks? It's possibly the one time (apart from major Rugby Union tourneys) that I actually pay any attention to sport. Add in the small fact that one of the first houses I remember living in was a stones throw from the Stratford Olympic site and there are some personal reasons for getting into the Games so much.

Apart from watching all the sports - especially the interesting ones that aren't football, one of the main highlights was, for me, Danny Boyle's astoundingly beautiful and moving Opening Ceremony which will be 're-cut' and released as a DVD. Might have to buy that.

Still on an Olympics kick - 2020 Olympic (Movie) Cities Posters - 'Metropolis', 'Gotham' and 'San Angeles' are real stand outs.

In other news... Still 'quiet' at work, with 'quiet' meaning that (nearly all) the students are all on holiday. That doesn't mean that it's quiet for me - there's a major building project going on, not to mention major upgrades of All The Technology into the bargain.
Still, I have two weeks of leave to take before the new start of term, so there is that.

My movie going has been a little quiet as of late - The Dark Knight Rises counts as one my favourite films of the year so far, would even say it's certainly top three. Even so, there hasn't been much else about - what with the Olympics and all that but that will change soon enough.

Other than that... same stuff - different week;)
