But I read this poem by David St. John in the Paris Review while waiting at the dentist's office the other day and I am oddly fascinated by it. Haven't gone back through it yet and analyzed it, but it spoke to me somehow. I think it had something to do with . . . .

What I Learned From Watching WALL-E (and from working at Nature's Classroom).
Tonight I, for the very first time, you might be appalled - Jon certainly was, sat down and watched the film WALL-E. I'm having major difficulties with the next part of my story. I don't know if she should announce the cello player or if there ought to be a last minute switch and she's forced to announce Toast? Or if she should be asked last minute to also announce Toast.

Oh my Grandmothers!
She's giving me a spoon.
No, it's not code; my grandmother, my Babcha, my Ba is giving me a spoon. A large sieve-like spoon, the one she uses for "doughnuts and pierogi". It was 50 degrees today.
Went for a walk today dressed in jeans, shitkickers, cat shirt, black cardigan, armwarmers, black cord jacket and black cord hat. Listened to Fefe Dobson most of the time, too. Haven't listened to that CD in ages. It was raining slightly, misting's more like it. But it felt good: I felt like a bad ass.
