Freaks, Geeks, Rantings & Ravings

Being a night owl is a good excuse to watch much too much telly. And since I don't like staying online for hours and hours during the nighttime, I've been trying to substitute that with other mind-ruining things, like watching television. Although I do read. Actually, I read a LOT. I'm reading literally six or seven different books right now. I HAVE to finish Wicked sometime...I'm nearly done, but then I decided to start over...how silly of me...I'll finish it someday...

And then there's "the Door into Summer", which is a very nice book. Of course, Monkees fans will know why I picked it out. "Door into Summer" is one of my favorite Monkee tunes, along with "As We Go Along" and "I'll Spend My Life With You" (Oh, Micky just slays me!)

OH! That whole television thing, yes. Well, I've become addicted to Scrubs. I watched it once and it "clicked". My, I sound like I'm dating it....though I wouldn't mind. J.D. reminds me of myself;  we're both losers at heart who just want to stick with a good buddy. Although I saw Zach Braff on Punk'd and...he's, um, different than he is on the show. I'll leave it at that. I still love him though. :-)

Yes, Scrubs and Freaks and Geeks. THAT is a show that they should put back on the air. I don't have the money to buy the season yet, but once I do....you won't see me for a few days, I'm sure. I've only seen tidbits of it on YouTube but it seems quite good--and believable. I mean, they were actually all played by real teenagers. That's kind of rare when you think about it. And besides, anything Judd Apatow does is genius, absolutely genius. It's a shame that his television shows never seem to work out....Judd and Seth Rogen. Yes. Both geniuses. A lot of my friends think that Seth Rogen is just a sloppy, potty-mouthed, chubby stoner, but c'mon, the guy is funny! He is so cynical and dry with his humor, much like myself.

Everyone is super-excited for the new Harry Potter book and I am DEFINITELY one of them. I grew up reading the series, and it's going to be almost painful to see it end. I don't know what else to do with my summer, other than staying up at all sorts of hours of the night reading about the life of Harry and his buddies! And everyone has theories. Theories, theories, theories. I've heard some very out-there ones, as well as some that I quite agree with. I'm really curious about Snape and what his part in this whole thing is. He's such a mysterious character; I love it. He's always been my favorite Hogwarts professor.
So, will Harry die?
Maybe.
I mean, that would kill the opportunity for people to pressure Ms. Rowling into sequels and reunions, that's for sure. But that would disappoint many, many people, I'm sure. Maybe it'll be both Harry AND Voldemort. Y'know, the whole "good vs. evil: good is triumphant but it comes with a cost" type thing. I guess we'll see next weekend!

And no, I haven't had the chance to see the Order of the Phoenix yet. People I've spoken to who have said that it's very good. I usually go see the Harry Potter movies within a day or so of its release, but it's just not possible. I've either been busy or broke. I'm currently both.

AND I'm writing a story! Gads, It never ends! ;-)

It's a Monkees story, of course. I'm still trying to figure out what KIND of story I want it to be, though. Love story? Science fiction? Choose-your-own-ending? Any suggestions? Tell me what you'd like to hear!

Yes, I realize only perhaps two people read this.

A girl can hope, right?

Cheers.
