Moose River Hummers

When i got to Sara's house Friday afternoon I walk into the kitchen to Yevette and Sara measuring out cups of Tequila, Vodka, and triple sec into a huge cool aid cooler.  Apparently they were making Moose River Hummers a drink from Yevettes childhood.  It was pretty tasty... the kind of drink that you have two cups of and then you're drunk.  I only had a quick shot of the drink as I was driving us that night, but by the time we got to Watkins Glen (a 15 minute drive) Sara, Val, and Yevette were already slurring words and spitting dill pickle sunflower seeds around my car.  Therefore we decided to stop for some Burger King.  After dinner everyone was a little more sober and we continued on our trek to Geneva, Sara playing DJ in the passenger seat.     After a little Talking Heads, Clutch, Grateful Dead, Wutang Clan, a few others, and a couple 80's songs blasted and sang to at the top of our lungs we pulled into the parking lot for the Smith Opera House.  There was some confusion about tickets and we all ended up getting frisked but we finally made it into the venue.  The show was awesome!  This was my first time seeing Umphreys Magee live and I wasn't let down.  The band was awesome switching up genres... they even played a Metallica song.  The lighting was amazingly trippy and everyone that came was really fun.

Since we got out of the concert about 11pm we decided we could totally make it back for last call in Horseheads.  I have to say I pretty much laughed hysterically the whole ride home.  By this time at least half of the cooler of Moose River Hummer juice was gone and my three traveling companions were showing it's effects.  I was in such a good mood Sara even convinced me to allow them to smoke one ciggarette in my car at the price of punching Val in the face.  It took some coaxing and some yoga moves, but Sara managed to punch Val in the face from the front seat and they won their ciggarette break.  When we got back to Watkins we were all hungry again so we stopped for some bagels at the new Dunkins there.  I'm pretty sure we terrorized the poor Indian guy in the drive through, but he got all the orders correct with the possibility of some spit in the cream cheese.  And while we waited I made the girls clean up my car by backing up to the trash can and back up to the window about 4 times.  I'm surprised we never got pulled over.

We did make it back in time for last call in Horseheads and then went to Dance club Willys complete with fog machine and strobe light to finish off the last of the Moose River Hummer juice.  It was a really fun night.  :)
