I'd say forgive me for being a nerd, but I actually kind of like it.
I've been pretty AWOL on this journal lately and it's not that I haven't been around (aside from the death plague thing) it's that I've found myself without a lot to say. I've started about five different posts and they've all felt pointless or else like they'd be too much effort to finish up writing. I just want to talk about Sailor Moon and Kyou Kara Maou! and they're not exactly current series, so I've been throwing myself into fic and art recs for them.
One of these days I'm going to write a series of epic Sailor Moon posts, though, if I don't get this huge, hulking, writhing, living, breathing, looming mass of feeeeeelings I have for the series out, though.

Anyway, have a week-old, half-formed post along the way! That's way too long outside a cut! (Again.)
Last week, I had a terrible bout of the flu, which left me with a headache all day while trying to sleep and then, finally, in the middle of the night, my body said NO MORE SLEEP FOR YOU, I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU FEEL SO NAUSEATED THAT YOU'LL BE UP ALL NIGHT. OH AND FORGET TRYING TO WATCH SOME TV TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THINGS, HA HA.
I was better by the next day, but ONCE AGAIN I woke up feeling kind of like crap. Achey, tired, and the back of my throat is really scratchy. Fuzzily, I wondered, why does this feel familiar...? as I groggily dragged myself up to get a glass of water. OH RIGHT IT'S THE START OF A COLD. TERRIFIC.
At least I've accomplished some nerdy things! o/
► - I am 35 hours into Final Fantasy XIII now. OMG I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS. Mostly of the, "holy shit, when did Lightning/Hope sneak up as an OTP on me? I wasn't supposed to ship anything in this game!" thoughts.
» Holy shit, Pixiv seriously ships Lightning/Hope! Sure, I went in to look for them, but it's not like I'm hitting up their pairing tag! I'm on the main FFXIII tag and I SWEAR HALF OF THE ART IS OF THEM. It's been kind of glorious. I'll probably be spamming the hell out of tomomichi for awhile yet.
► - I finally picked Pokemon SoulSilver back up last week. I'm not very far into it (about thirteen hours into it now) and I've only got the first seven badges, but a lot of this is because I'm trying to evenly level my party this time around. I picked Cydaquil for my starter pokemon and it's up to level 58 now, but! At least (wasn't) the only one over-leveled!
» I have a Mareep--well, it was a Mareep, but it's evolved now--that I named "Rihi" BECAUSE I AM A NERD and it's cute, shut up. (Like, two people are going to get that. orz) You have no idea how hard it is not to get two more and name them "Meichi" or "Ken-chan" or something.
» I also have a Bellsprout that's at level 18 and when the fuck do those things evolve??
» I DREAMED ABOUT POKEMON ALREADY. AFTER ONLY FIVE HOURS OF PLAYING SOULSIVER. Surely, that has to net me some sort of Wow That's Special Of You award.
» *sincerely* Why are the original forms of the pokemon so cute, but their evolved forms are kind of god-awful? Seriously, Flaaffy is NOWHWERE NEAR AS CUTE AS MY MAREEP WAS. And the sheep joke isn't going to work with a Ampharos!
► - I am in the middle of kind of an epic anime rewatching fest! As well as picking up new series!
» Durarara!!: -->ep 09: I started for the fanart, then stuck around for Shizuo and Izaya, but now I think I actually like the series as a whole? When did that happen??
» Sailor Moon: -->ep 62: The first season is still my favorite, I think it was epic and perfect. The Makaji arc of R was still just as retarded as I remember, you can tell it was such an anime-only thing. I'm finally back to the Black Moon arc and it's going much better again. My love for Usagi continues to be ridiculous, she is my favorite heroine ever.
» Kyou Kara Maou!: -->ep 55: I'm properly watching the anime this time around and surprised at how much my tastes have changed on certain things. And how much I am ridiculously in love with certain characters. And how kind of genuinely decent this series is! I-- I kind of want to write essays about this show. orz
» Darker Than BLACK: -->ep 05: You know how I'm always late to the party for the awesome stuff? Why do I do that to myself?
» HeartCatch PreCure: -->ep 04: OMG IT IS THE GIRLIEST THING EVER AND IT'S SO CUTE AND I LOVE IT WITH MY WHOLE HEART. I'm trying to be ironic about my love of magical girl anime but I'm pretty sure this series being like CCS without CLAMP in it has ruined the ironic part forever and I love it genuinely.
► - FIVE SECOND TV WATCHING BLOGGING:
» Justified: Seen the first episode. It's not exactly anything new, but... it's pretty enough that I'll give it a few more episodes. It wasn't terrible at any rate!
» In Plain Sight: 20 minutes into the first episode and I was in love. It isn't just that Mary is an amazing female lead, it's that she's an amazing character, full stop. And I actually like pretty much every relationship dynamic on the show just like it is! Also, the first season's finale? Jfc, that was intense.
» Community: When did this show turn out to be so brilliant? I've been watching since the beginning, of course, but I swear. Sometime around the midpoint this show just went all genius on me and it kind of hasn't looked back. The billiards episode and the pottery episode literally had me crying from laughter, holy crap. (P.S. I still ship Jeff/Annie like you wouldn't believe. I don't care if it's intended or not, they would be AMAZING together.)
P.S. Why did I go looking for ANYTHING in the Kyou Kara Maou! fandom? I mean, I was just looking for info on the novels and I just want to punch everyone in this fucking fandom in the face ALL OVER AGAIN.
