Well. That was unexpected.
I came home from work around 5:30, turned on CBS (thank goodness my affiliate decided to show the tennis!), and thought, "Well, Roger's done another one in," convinced that Del Potro was finished. How wrong was I?
In the several hours since then, I've become a Del Potro fan. I've always appreciated him, but after tonight? Boy's got what it takes. Wow. Mind, the next time he goes up against Rafa I'll still be rooting for Rafa, but if DP wins I won't hate it, at least.
That was an amaaaaazing match. Full of ups, downs, all-arounds, and plenty of hot tempers. I don't remember Roger losing his temper like that. I mean, I'm sure he has and I just haven't seen it, but wow. Roger played well, but DP played beautifully, and never gave up, even when he was THIS CLOSE to being two sets down. Well played, Juan Martin Del Potro. Well played.
