OK, so I appear to be taking something of a semi-hiatus from LJ this week. I say semi, since there are still some LJ-related duties I had to accomplish, and there were a few things that I was waiting to show up. But I've gone to bed early both nights this week (it's my time of the month and it seems to be making me Very Tired this time around), and although I tried to start watching Torchwood last night, I was just too tired to give it my full interest. So please, people, keep your spoiler cuts intact, because all I've managed to hear about it is that it's awesome, and I want to keep the awesome intact until I can see it. I have managed to listen to the audio plays finally, thanks to being able to listen in the car on the way to and from work. Short version: Asylum and The Dead Line were good, Golden Age... not so much.
The other reason I'm taking an LJ-hiatus is that I just speed-read through Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series. I'd read the first book, and part of the second, and then stopped. I started watching a little of Season 1 of True Blood over the weekend (same thing, started watching when it was airing, then stopped), and that spurred me to get the rest of the books. It turns out that my basic problem with the first book or two is that I don't actually like Bill. This is a problem in the first few books, although I like TV Bill a bit better than book Bill. I really, really prefer Eric. Once I sorted that out, I whooshed through the rest of them, and am also working my way through the rest of the S1 episodes of True Blood so I can get to S2.
Oh, also! I am still reading
inell's awesome, awesome Kirk/McCoy series, which is now two series,
Two Men and a Motorbike, and
Two Men and a Starship. I haven't read the last few of the latter yet, partially because of the above reading I mentioned, but also partially because I like to save the parts up to read all at once.
Anyway, I still need to get ready for work, so I need to post this and get out of here.
