4 Days till Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!
We (Tommy) made grilled cheese sandwhichs with pork and turkey in them last night!! (Thanksgiving leftovers)
I can't believe the amount of technique needed to make a perfect grilled cheese.
I thought it was just toast with cheese- boy was i wrong.
AND we had tomato soup - it was the most awesome thing I have ever eaten, so i purposely ate only half and i saved the rest for lunch today!! I am SO excited.
I am killing time right now until Tommy rings - (noone has to read this- I need to get my anxious feelings out)
It is Tommys first 3 month cancer checkup today.
He left for the Hamilton Cancer Clinic at 9am - he should be in there now.
It always makes me nervous - I know I will have to get used to it because it is a part of our lives now, but.. well it is a hard thing to try and get used to.
We watched such an interesting documentary on monday night on BBC.
It was about radiation and the way it causes cancer - specifically Thyroid Cancer.
Any information we have about the cancer was from our own investigation via the internet etc (which has caused VERY bitter feelings - the doctors basically push him out the door if he has a question).
So when we read that Thyroid cancer could be caused by radiation it was very confusing - he has never had repeated x-rays before?
So this show said some pretty mental things about the environment, like the radiation from the sun etc.
ALSO it did say, that one CT (cat) scan (shows where cancer has spread etc) has as much radiation as 300 chest X-Rays!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND that the radiation released when getting a mammogram, is now said to be a cause of breast cancer?!?!?!?!?!?!?
WTF!!!!!!!! how ironic is that!!! Of course this was very traumatic for me.. (I am now a glorified hypochondriac i think)
Tommy was cute.. and kinda sad at the same time.
He sat there with a piece of paper writing down facts and other stuff.
It made me think of how scarey it would be to have something wrong with you and not understand how or why or whatever..
