Wow! I figured (where the show was picked up for its second season early on) they'd end the season with a whole lot of cliffhangers, but they still managed to surprise me with the number and variety. @.@ I need to do some silly stuff to clear the shock, and prepare for the looong wait for the show to return in the fall. I will definitely miss the show while it's gone. :(
Icon Glee MEME
1. Reply to this post with "fizzigood make feel nice" and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
I was tagged by
redjay This is one of the icons that I made for myself. It was the very first Doctor Who icon I made. I've been a Whovian all my life, but after the attempt by FOX to make a Doctor Who backdoor pilot in the 90's flopped I got so I didn't talk about it much. The launch of the revival got me talking about it again, and the first thing I felt I needed was an icon showing "My Doctor" (the 4th), and what I felt was the One True Pairing for the Doctor (Doctor/TARDIS). I wasn't happy when the 8th Doctor kissed Grace in that backdoor pilot. We really won't discuss how I felt about the whole 10th Doctor and Rose Tyler "epic love" business. I've gotten more comfortable shipping the Doctor with people as supposed to only shipping him with the TARDIS, but I still think the TARDIS comes first.
This is another icon I made for myself. It wasn't my very first Highlander icon, or even my very first Peter Wingfield/Methos icon. While I list it as "Methos Casual" it really is a picture of the actor (Peter Wingfield) who played Methos done outside of filming for the TV series. I made it, and have used it as Methos for RPG. I like to think the Really Old Guy is perfectly capable of striking a pose like that with the right incentive. Highlander: The Series is one of my older fandoms, not as old as Doctor Who or comic books, but it started in the early 90's and this is 2014. Next year I will have been in love with the character Methos and the actor Peter Wingfield for 20 years.
This icon was a gift from a friend. I believe she was doing a MEME where, if someone asked, she'd make them an icon she felt summed them up to her. The icon she made for me incorporates two different things I love very much. First, it has Captain Jack Harkness which I love, so long as I ignore the existence of Torchwood: Children of Earth and pretty much everything that had Captain Jack Harkness in it after that. Second, it takes him and turns him into a vampire. If vampires as a subject can be considered a fandom, then vampires are another early fandom of mine (with the likes of elves, dragons, Doctor Who, and comic books). Near as I can figure I've loved vampires over 30 years. Captain Jack Harkness is working towards the 10 year mark. Put the two together and you get 40 years of love in one icon. I think my friend did a pretty good job of making an icon that's "me."
This is another icon I made for myself. Disney animated fairy tales is definitely one of my earliest fandoms. The first movie I actually remember seeing in a movie theater was the 1979 re-release of Sleeping Beauty. I was four. Prince Philip is still one of my all time favorite Prince Charmings. I loved Tangled. I loved Flynn Rider, and Maximus. Somehow, though, my favorite character in the whole thing was the little chameleon named Pascal. It might have been how much he said without ever saying a word. It might have been his being scaly and by extension a bit dragon-y. Whatever it was, I made more than one Pascal icon. I think this is the one that's stuck because I feel like that look says so much.
This was a gift placed in my Fandom Stocking with a number of other beautiful icons (15 from this one gifter). I said some of my "not specific to a single fandom interests" were strawberries, pineapples, cats, dragons, amethyst and the color purple in general. She made me icons featuring pineapples, strawberries, the color purple and in a couple of ways cats. This was my favorite of the icons that managed to contain two interests in one icon. It has both strawberries and a kitty cat. Only once in my life have I ever had an allergic reaction that people tried to pin on strawberries. It was in sixth grade, and we'd had strawberry shortcake at lunch. Other than that I've never had any trouble with strawberries. We've owned cats most of my lives. This strawberry kitty cat makes me smile.
Fifteen Characters MEME
Gacked from
redjay 1) Make a list of fifteen characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment.
2) Ask your f-list to post questions in the comments. For example: "One, nine, and fifteen are chosen by a prophecy to save the world from four. Do they succeed?", "Under what circumstances might five and fourteen fall in love?", "Which character on the list would you most want on your side in a zombie invasion?"
3) After your f-list has stopped asking questions, round them up and answer them using the fifteen characters you selected beforehand, then post them.
