non-incident
just had lunch at a nearby sushi place with my old boss, and a weird non-incident occurred. just as she was coming in the door, i noticed that the people sitting at the next facing table from us (end-to-end, not side-to-side) were the girl j was kinda hanging out w/previous to us getting together and her close friend. both had joined meetin in december, but neither have been to any events since new years. i don't know how much of that has to do w/the drama that occurred at the party and how much is just a lack of strong interest on either of their parts, but it felt weird to sit there & not say hello or acknowledge each others' presence(s?) at all. on the other hand, i don't know if they noticed me or not; it was hard to tell. perhaps when i first walked by, as i had to pass their table, but i didn't notice them in that moment, as i was focused on following the hostess. it just felt bad and uncomfortable, and then it was over. thankfully.
