Whew! I'm home after being in Indy Friday and Saturday night. I left later than I had hoped on Friday because I kept forgetting stuff. Plus I had a deep discussion about staying an extra night in Indy with Evan. So after "talking out" all of the pluses and negatives of all scenarios, we finally decided that I would go to his apartment after my teacher thing and I would stay there on Saturday night. I was going to brave the dogs! But after I made my decision, he goes "Are you SURE that's what you want? You're okay with the dogs?" Now when I make up my mind finally but then someone asks me if I'm sure, I always start re-thinking. Message to the world: If I make a decision after a lengthy amount of time, do NOT ask me if I'm sure because it will only cause another hour of debate and thinking.
So I got to Indy pretty late and checked in but I didn't know if anyone else from my group was there. If they weren't, I was gonna have to pay for the room on my VISA when I checked out. Not cool! So I went up and watched TV, read my Cosmo, and conked out pretty early by Northern IN time. I made sure I got up early enough to try and meet those other people in the lobby. I was so relieved when I saw the one guy from our group. Other people started showing up after that. They were supposed to meet at 8:15 so my plan to try and find them worked! We went to Lawrence North H.S. for our meeting. Big yawn! It would have been over A LOT sooner but this big debate about something started and people just would NOT stop! I left at 3:35 and the meeting was still going on. I just couldn't sit through any more. So I left and called Evan.
He gave me directions and I was all scared about getting lost. I actually did miss a turn and then he had to tell me how to get back over to where I needed to be but he kept hesitating and that's not good when you have someone right behind you! So I got there and the dogs were jumping all over me...but not aggressive-like. It was okay. I like the new puppy Macy. She's cute and soft and friendly. So Evan took a quick shower and we went downtown. It was crazy! There was some high school marching band competition at the RCA dome and there were people EVERYWHERE. We found a parking spot in one of the Circle Center garages and then we walked across the skyway. It was so crowded in there. There were teenage band people and their parents EVERYWHERE! You could hardly walk! It was nuts. So after being in there a little, we went down the street to Borders. We looked at movies and he ended up buying some silly gory movie. Then we went back to Circle Center and I ate a WHOLE Cinnabon in one sitting. It's so unhealthy but SO yummy! I was hungry apparently! After that we went upstairs to GameWorks. We were just going to look around because we had planned on going to Jillian's to play games instead but we liked it so we stayed.
We were looking at games and Evan got on this extreme biking one. He was just pedaling and playing around and suddenly he was really playing! There were like 5 credits on the game and no one around it so we played for free! I only played once and it was more than enough. I was sweaty and out of breath. It was a tough game! So then we decided to stay and bought a card so we could play games (and actually pay!) We played this street luge game and somehow again, got to play 5 free games! Evan also got to play a basketball game for free. Must have just been our lucky night! We also watched some crazy people doing Dance, Dance Revolution. If those people think they are cool...well, um..yeah that's all I'm gonna say. I think they look like they are going to hurt themselves. We played pinball and Evan played some cop game where you actually have to duck and shoot and stuff or you get killed. We played some motorcycle racing games and stuff. Our final game was this big Indy 500 game. You get into an actual like car and you have a huge screen in front of you. The car moves according to what is happening on the screen, like if you get hit and turned around, the car starts shaking and twisting a little. It was crazy! Evan won and exacted revenge on the little 10 yr. olds that had beaten us on the Daytona driving game. So ha! :)
After we left Circle Center (and I got my text message from Lisa about how she missed me! hehe) we went to the ghetto Kroger to get some butter so we could make grilled cheese. There was a guy selling drugs in the parking lot and a crack house around the corner. NICE! What's funny is that all of the houses on the street that Evan lives on are those big Victorians that are all painted the different colors. They are gorgeous houses and then like a block over is the ghetto. So weird. I gave him his picture of Robert Goulet before we got out of the car and he was so excited! I attempted to cook dinner. I say attempted because I hate electric stoves. Plus his bread was kinda crumbly so the grilled cheese was messed up. I just ate the soup. Then we played X-Box. That was my request because I've never played and I wanted to try. I've come to a conclusion though...I suck! We played some Tony Hawk game and I kept falling on my head and crashing. It was bad. There are just too many buttons on that damn controller! So after that we blew up the air mattress and settled down. Well, we did but the dogs didn't. They thought it was their bed too! I got kind of irritated and became a little bitchy because I would have liked to have slept next to him without a dog between us. He kicked the dogs out and shut the door but Macy whined and scratched so he let them back in. It wasn't so bad except when they were on top of me. I didn't like that with their doggy breath. Ew.
So then Evan got up early to walk them and then took a shower so he could go to work. I laid "in bed" still. The reason I said "in bed" is because I had forgotten that the air mattress has a hole somewhere so by this morning, our asses were on the ground! It had like barely any air left in it. So that was funny. I got up and threw on my clothes so I could drive home and we said goodbye. I knew I had to get back to 16th St. to get to 65 so I was going on my way when my phone rang. It was Evan. He asked if it was possible for me to turn around because he had left his movie in my car. So I got back where I needed to be and he found the movie under the seat. I told him that he pulled a "Lisa leave-behind" but he didn't know what that was. I told him he left it so I had to come back and he could see me again. He just laughed at me. He accused me of trying to steal his movie. That would be a big negative. He can keep his bloody slasher flicks all to himself. So he kissed me goodbye again and told me that if I got lost to call him. So I found my way and I was all driving and my phone rang again...and it was Evan again! He was calling to check and make sure I found my way okay and everything. I thought that was sweet! He said he knew I was worried about getting lost so he wanted to check on me! So I drove home and made pretty decent time.
When I got here, my mom was raking my yard. I so did not ask her to but she said she knew I wouldn't...and she's probably right. I hate yard work with a passion. I want to hire people to do it for me. So I went and took a nap because I was really tired. I told my mom I would rake later. So I slept for like 3 hours (and my kitty cat slept in his little bed on my bed) and then I got up an raked some. Then I went to dinner at Steak N Shake with Cheryl and Matt. After I got home I went grocery shopping and now here I am!
I had a lot of fun with Evan on Saturday. It was nice just to hang out and do silly stuff. I really wish that I got to see him more. And the "afro" he claims to have isn't as bad as I had imagined. He does have really curly hair though! It's cute. Speaking of, there were pics in his apartment of him when he was younger. So cute! Little curly haired baby. There was also a pic of Sean and DJ and Evan when they were younger. Hilarious! DJ is holding a white dog with this HUGE ASS grin on his face and Sean is just standing there and Evan is trying to hang on the basketball rim that is only like 5 ft. I swear. It was funny.
So anywho, yay, my weekend was much better than expected. I was REALLY worried about the whole dog thing but it was okay. I had fun AND I got to see my man! I'm sorry I wasn't here Lisa but you always get to see me! ;)
