"Th-th-thanks," Rise mumbles, sniffling as she tries to rub the apparently inexhaustible flood of saltwater out of her puffy red eyes and makeup-stained cheeks.
"I told you, it's no trouble," Yukiko smiles, placing a gentle hand on her violently trembling shoulder. "We're your friends, Rise-- trust me, we'll help you get through this." The brunette tried to screw her face into a smile before simply nodding, then grabbed another handful of tissues and loudly blew her nose into them.
"I-it's just... H-h-him and Kanji? I...*hic* how was I supposed to kn-know he was... well... that they w-were a *hic* c-couple?"
Biting her lip, Yukiko remembered how Souji had always chosen Kanji first for the battle party since he'd joined the group, how he'd always heal him before anyone else, how he seemed bizarrely fascinated with the rough-edged boy's passion for craftwork and the running bet she and Chie and Yusuke had on who'd make the first move-- but she doubted it would help Rise much to know that at the moment.
"Well... there's no use worrying about that now," Yukiko said calmly. "Listen, Chie's gonna be here any minute, and when she does we're gonna make you a great big dinner to help you forget about all this--"
"I-Is something b-burning?"
Suddenly Yukiko remembers the noodles, and turning back to the stove she finds her vision nearly obscured by billowing clouds of smoke.

Nearly an hour later-- punctuated by Chie's abrupt arrival, an incident with a fire extinguisher and over a dozen attempts to get the grilled steak somewhere between 'raw' and 'charcoal,' the three of them are finally seated around the table (with Chie and Yukiko certainly looking worse for wear).
"Well, all things considered," Yukiko offered uncertainly, chewing on her (slightly crunchy) udon noodles, "...I don't think it came out too badly."
"Pfft. After going through all that, it'd have to be," Chie smiled, devouring her steak with abandon. Looking over at Rise, however, she noticed that while she'd finally stopped crying, her plate remained untouched, save a bit of absentminded fiddling with her chopsticks.
"...What's wrong, Rise?" Yukiko asked after a moment, treading carefully. "...Is it too overcooked? The squash might have been a little too ripe now that I think about i--"
"Do you guys think I'm pretty?"
The question's so unexpected, so frank, that neither of the longtime friends know just what to say.
"Um... Of course you're beautiful, Rise," Chie finally answers, a little bewildered (and careful to sound as casual about it as possible when Yukiko gives her a pointed look).
"Let me rephrase that," Rise snaps back, her voice a little tighter after so much crying and her own muddled feelings. "...What would you fix about me?"
"Now wait just a minute," Yukiko interjected, eyes filled with worry. "Don't you go doubting yourself just over Souji. Rise, you are beautiful-- exactly the way you are, and neither of us would change that."
But all all Rise can remember is every single time her manager put her on a diet for a measly pound or two, the heels to make her look taller, pads to fill her out more, that no one seemed to recognize her as "Risette" without them. If she really was everything she should have been, then maybe...
"I would have expected an answer like that out of the guys," Rise grumbled angrily. "...But I thought you two would at least be honest with me." With that, she leaves the table and locks herself in the nearby bathroom, leaving Chie and Yukiko exchanging worried looks.

When Rise finally comes out, wiping off the last of her tears and sniffling, it's already getting dark. Looking around though, she's surprised to find not only dinner gone, but the table as well, pushed to the side to make room for the futon now occupying the center of the living space. She hardly has a chance to consider this before Chie and Yukiko come out of the bedroom together, two pairs of eyes resolutely fixed on the former idol.
"Rise, we know you're... that you're hurting right now," Yukiko says quietly. "But we would never, ever lie to you about something like this."
"Yeah, right," Rise grumbles, arms crossed. "...Next you're going to tell me I'm 'special just the way I am,' or that 'I shouldn't care what people think,' or something like that."
"Well, you are," Chie smiles, squeezing Yukiko's hand briefly before twining her fingers with Rise's. "...Do you really want us to prove that to you?"
Holding back another string of bitter tears, Rise hurriedly nods yes.
And then to her utter shock, Chie leans forward and kisses her.
On instinct, Rise backs away, unsure what to think... only to feel Yukiko behind her, craning her head around just enough to kiss her as well. Only instead of a gentle peck, Yukiko really kisses her, a soft hand on Rise's cheek holding her lightly in place.
Maybe it's because everything is so confusing right now, but Rise feels the initial bewilderment melt away under her friend's touch, and without any thought she's kissing Yukiko back, a gasp escaping down her throat as she feels Chie's lips on her jaw, suckling gently.
Rise feels herself break the kiss as two pairs of hands begin to rove up and down her body, the sensation already close to overwhelming before Chie pulls her in for a long, deep kiss, Yukiko focusing her own attention on the sensitive spot right along the base of Rise's neck.
Rise's breathless and eager and disoriented when the two pull away, guiding her pliant form down to the futon before they continue. She reaches for the hem of her shirt-- her curiosity ignited about what Yukiko and Chie might do to her if she's like this after only a few kisses-- but, smiling, Yukiko stops her, then proceeds to lift it off herself while Chie unfastens her skirt, her lightly calloused hand sliding down the gentle swell of Rise's hip to take off her underwear as well.

The rustle of clothing is the only indication that Chie and Yukiko are stripping as well, aside from the occasional break in their attentions. Forcing her drowsy eyes open, Rise can only gasp. She sees Yukiko-- pale and lean but well endowed-- contrast with the flatter, more muscular (yet slightly chubby) Chie, and suddenly she feels something ravenous and eager awaken within her. If she was simply complacent before, Rise is now certain and more than willing.
Smiling, Chie takes a place on Rise's left, trailing butterfly kisses from her breasts all the way up to her ear, while Yukiko gently pulls her knees apart and begins to slowly lick and nip along the dip of her belly. Moaning and restless, Rise tries to touch either of her two lovers, but they quietly push her hands back. The unspoken message is clear: she and she alone is their focus tonight.
Lifting her up even as Yukiko's lips slide lower, working along the meeting of her thigh and hip, Chie pulls herself into a sitting position behind Rise, cupping a breast with one hand while she nibbles at her neck, the other drifting down her belly, past the patch of auburn curls at the apex of her legs...
She feels Chie's thumb on her clit at the very moment Yukiko's tongue slides into her, and all she can do is buck and writhe and moan until her senses burn out completely.

By the time Rise finally has the energy to wake up, she finds Chie and Yukiko cuddled together, sharing a plate of strawberries, both only wearing their undergarments (Chie in her sports bra and briefs, Yukiko in practically sinful black lingerie). Beaming sweetly at the brunette, Chie brings her naked form between them again even as Yukiko teasingly feeds her one of the sweet red fruits.
"Well?" Yukiko whispers, eyes smoldering. "Do you believe us now?"
Rise doesn't know quite what to say. Yes, even now she still feels like she's glowing, elated, more loved and more truly beautiful than she ever did as an idol. Glancing up at the two, heart swelling, she only offers a coy response.
"I think... I might need a bit more convincing," Rise grins, and Chie and Yukiko only need that little hint to draw her in closer.
