WOOOO I finally have a job again-- which means that if it's in fact full-time, I might not have to worry about taking classes to keep getting insurance ♥♥♥♥ It's at Stride Rite, which is basically a shoe store for kids up to 13, and while I've been babysitting constantly for about 4 months without any problems, I'm REALLY hoping i'm not the sort who will get annoyed by them. I'm pretty patient with kids, but... 0_0
And I was at my cousin's Confirmation ceremony and one of my 5-year old cousins sat near me and she was talking to me before the mass started. And she pointed out this one little girl in a polo shirt and khaki slacks...
her: "I talked to that boy there and he said that he was a girl!" :0
me: "...Well, you know that girls can wear clothes like boys, right?"
her: 8/ "...Nuh-uh! (looks again)... oh wait, now I can see she's a girl."
And apparently she thought my (single) mom and I were married. Yeah. My sister was trying hard not to laugh out loud. Oh, kids XD
Oh, saw "Battle for Terra"-- no full review cause there's not much to say. Not that great (and kinda fugly), which isn't to say that there weren't some good ideas and a surprising degree of... well, maturity... to it (how often is moral ambiguity factored into kid's movies anyway?). Basically, some interesting art direction/mechanical design, ambitious scope and a SERIOUSLY good musical score gets overshadowed by wooden voice-acting and a rogue's gallery of Every Trendy Ultra-Liberal Cause being shoehorned down your throat (environmentalism? Oh yeah. Iraq War-parallels? You got 'em. The evils of religion? of course...). Please "9", hurry up and come out to prove with "The Iron Giant," "Titan A.E.," "The Secret of Nimh" and "The Incredibles" that animation is a viable and perfect place for science fiction to thrive in.
And lastly, participating in this meme from
kiyuu .

Avatar: The Last Airbender
1) Hmm... I think I checked it out out of boredom, actually XD They had all of Season 1 on DVD at my library, so I picked it up and gave it a try. Wasn't convinced from the first few episodes... but by episode 20 I was sold.
2) I think I've pretty much moved on, though I still lurk from time to time. Don't really wanna be associated with the crazier members, frankly.
3) Favorite's probably "The Guru," because they really nailed the spiritual aspect of Buddhism/Hinduism along with really focusing on internal conflict rather than fighting. That said, "The Boiling Rock" is probably a close second because FUCK YEAH MAI KICKS ASS and HELL YEAH SPIDER SUKI XD
4) Mostly I write fics, though I'm not that active in this one. Mostly for TyZula (OTP BB), though other yuriships on occasion (and anything with Jun ♥)
5) Sure, but proceed with caution. Avoid Zutara and Kataang if at all possible even if you ship either, if you wanna avoid being associated with the wangsting that results between the two :P
Claymore
1) Checked this one out cause I heard about it a little on shoujo-ai.com and because I had recently abandoned Bleach and was looking for something a little different (read: better). Have not been disappointed since ♥
2) FUCK YES I'M STAYING HERE. It's pretty much everything I could ever ask for in a manga (great story/characters, violence, lots of awesome/interesting/ass-kicking ladies, nice art, very few men and the few that ARE there aren't smug, overpowered bastards, and yuri subtext galore XD
3) The "Teresa of the Faint Smile" arc (which will hook you if nothing else does XD), and "The Witches Maw" arc because YAY the introduction of Riful AND Jean Clare/Jean 4EVA BITCHES XDDD
4) Not really that active, but I'm wanting to write more fic. I should, really.
5) Definitely, though het/slash shippers are gonna be disappointed for once XD Though seriously, the story is definitely good enough on its own.
Persona 4
1) Heh, kiyuu's entirely to blame for my obsession with this, since she's never rec'd something to me that I've not fully enjoyed. X3
2) I think I'm gonna stick with this one ♥ The characters are certainly worth it.
3) OH GOD I CAN'T PICK. The piles of Chie/Yukiko subtext? Kanji's S. Link? Teddie's arc? Nanako's existence? The True Ending? There's just too much win here honestly XD
4) Mainly writing a LOT of Chie/Yukiko ♥♥♥, but not a lot else.
5) there's not a lot there in terms of 'game,' but everything else is so satisfying and fun. PLAY IT MOTHERFUCKERS, PLAY IT.
