Cowboy Bebop Live Action!!

Have you heard? If not...here is the link. I'm a bit disappointed by who they're planing to cast as Spike. (Okay...a bit more than a little. A LOT disappointed.) I'm really glad they're keeping the original staff, etc. involved and have to sign off on the script. Also, we can be happy that the movie will have a large budget as well as a good chance ( Read more... )

My boyfriend and I have been having nerdy discussions on the casting and so forth. The whole idea of CB going through the American filter is well...rage inducing.

Keanu Reeves, as much as the guy lacks in acting I've "come to terms" with him as Spike. We decided to give Constantine a try yesterday and shockingly we were blown away his "Spike-isms."

Now, that still leaves us with casting. As fans we all know CASTING IS CRUCIAL.

I might have to cut a bitch if they cast my favorite character, Faye Valentine as some Hollywood "IT" girl.

The only ray of light is that the people doing the movie know how difficult it will be. They know that they have to obey the true nature of CB. Plus, Wantanabe is exec. producer. That makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

On a side note, SpikexFaye on screen? I'll sign off on it. ;)

We can only hope for the best. *crosses fingers*

Oh Keanu, just sit and look pretty. Pleeease act weeell. --;;

Oh! I don't mind him being Spike as much after seeing this picture. :)

And thank you for the kind comment. Heehee. ^__^

hm. you know. i have no problem with keanu playing spike. i don't see the big deal. it could have been a lot worse. but that pic of him you posted is super cute and it gives me a lot to look forward to.

the thing that concerns me is the spike/faye interaction. it would break my heart if they decided to just have it center around spike and julia. that's really the only thing that worries me. haha. i'm just a sad, sad shipper.

Omg, I know.

I'm all for, "follow the series!" But damn, I know how American audiences work.

It's what they did to Harry/Hermione (Which was fine by me!)---They're going to want that Spike and Faye interaction.

And honestly, I've seen the series numerous times and have done all that fun nerdy studying on their relationship. For me, there was one. Even Wantanabe stated as much, but there just wasn't time for focus on it.

Besides, now we're dealing with actors with real chemistry. I'll be the happiest Saye Shipper in the world if Keanu and Faye (Jolie, plz) will have more than just a platonic relationship.

A girl can dream right? Never know, I think we might be pleasantly surprised.

Side note: I'm totally on the Keanu wagon. GUH. I'm happy about the casting.

And I would think they'd cast a woman for Faye. Megan Fox just looks like an underaged prostitute. (Oh, I went there.) At least I hope that's what execs think.

I have a feeling if they do cast Faye to be Faye, it'll be a woman who's young but looks matured.

There's an Italian actress that..omg, she's perfect, but alas, I doubt she'll be offered.
