Final Week at Fort Edmonton

Aug 22, 2012 21:34

So it begins. I now have four days remaining at Fort Edmonton Park. :( I'm not exaggerating when I say I learned new things each and every day. I made so many amazing friends and learned to be so much more confident in myself and my knowledge. (Perhaps I've come into the Gift of Gab I acquired when I kissed the Blarney Stone a few years back?)

My supervisor also asked me today if I've thought about going for "Rec Two" "when I come back" - in other words, thinking about getting a position as a supervisor there in a year or two. I don't think he would have asked me this if he didn't think that I could do it. We'll have to see where life takes me after this, I suppose!

This week is probably going to my last chance in a long time to drive some of those lovely old automobiles, cook on the wonderful wood burning stove, and hang out with some of the most amazing people I've ever come to work with. (Not to mention I have to finish knitting two separate sock projects this week before I go!)

Nevertheless, I'm really going to miss this place. I'll definitely come back to volunteer if I'm working in the area, and again, who knows what the future will bring!

I've had an amazing time, I've learned so much, and I feel that I've come out a better person for having this job.
