summary: claire does laundry in the hatch... and maybe a little extra.
Claire sighs into the sloshy chugga-chugga of the washing machine, marveling at the darkness behind her eyes. The island has been an endless stream of blinding sunlight glinting off hot sand. The hatch is a sanctuary.
She doesn’t bother to turn around when she hears someone behind her, and her lips curl up in anticipation once she recognizes the footsteps. Warmth presses softly against her back, the edge of the cold, humming washing machine pushing into her stomach. Fingers curl into the material of her blouse.
“You’re wearing my shirt.”
Libby’s goldilocks-era hair tickles her shoulder in tandem with her whisper, sending a shiver up Claire’s spine.
Claire shrugs convincingly, turning around and holding in the gasp at just how close they are. Their noses brush.
“Did you want it back?”
Libby smiles innocently. She leans forward, tilting Claire back against the machine, before nodding.
“If it’s not too much trouble.”
The washer kicks into spin mode just as Claire pulls herself onto the flat top of it. She squirms against the friction; her eyes are pleadingly pouty. Libby hitches the shirt up just slightly, pressing a wet kiss just below her navel, before reaching for the button of Claire’s jeans. Her whimpers are lost in the sound of the squeaking washing machine as it knocks against the dryer. Fingers slightly sticky with detergent, they weave through Libby’s hair, pressing her closer.
The lavender shirt lands forgotten on the hatch floor.
