Hi. I have a question. I apologize if it's been posted before, I checked the tags and couldn't find it, but as I'm not sure about it, I could of missed it. I just got a new haircut about a week ago. Cut about 6-8 inches off. I now have a shaggy, layered, very textured, shoulder length cut. My hair is naturally wavey. My stylist, whom I have been going to for about 4 years now, told me how to style it to get the look I want (simply I want my hair straight, with the ends flipped out), but I can't seem to get it to obey. Even trying to use a straightening gel/foam/etc. doesn't seem to work with it now that's it so light. Of course I have tried my flat iron, but that doesn't completely work either.
So I guess my questions come down to:
1) How do I get my hair to straighten and yet curl out the ends?
2) My stylist suggested using texturizers to make the texture stand out, but I have never used any other styling product besides hair spray, so I have no idea what I'm looking for, what's a good price, good brand, etc.
