brow wax?

I have dark hair and dark eyebrows so I never really gave a thought to filling in or using wax on my brows. I just bought Benefit's Smokin' Eyes palette (I am such a sucker for anything miniature, hah) and it comes with a tinted brow wax. I tried it and actually really like the results, but I can't tell if I'm imagining improvement or not.

Anyone here with dark eyebrows use brow wax or anything similar? Is it really necessary for us?
