You guys gave me some fabulous ideas for shoes to go with my maid of honour dress, so I am hoping you can tell me what to do with my boyfriend too.  He is not in the wedding, but since I would imagine we'll get to spend some time together and take some pics together I would rather he isn't wearing something that looks absolutely blech with my dress ( Read more... )

How about a burgundy or dark red shirt? That would compliment your dress well..

I would try to convince to wear white shirt and red tie. That seems like the best choice.

Why is he against white shirts? That one color of a shirt that will go with everything.

I'm not sure, I might even be wrong about it but I was quite certain he had nixed a white shirt. If so, what do you think about a black shirt with a red/wine tie, is that too dark?

What is the setting? If its an outside day wedding it would be way too dark. If its more formal indoor at evening time wedding I think you could get away with either black shirt or dark gray.

If its outdoor I would pick a lighter shade of gray.

It is an indoor, evning-ish (wedding starts at 4, reception around 6) in early October....so yeah I have time, was just wondering. The wedding party is fairly formal, all the girls have floor length halters and the guys will have tuxes I am sure. But since my bf isn't in the wedding party I don't want him to look TOO formal or dramatic but as long as he is wearing a suit (vs a tux) the dark color shouldn't make him look too don't you think?
