CHINA DAILY HUMOUR

Jan 13, 2004 18:19

Not much to say, other than I read the 'China Daily' for the first time. Local news in English.
It made me laugh.
A film recently brought out here 'Cellphone' (ask Lorna for director info etc.)basically about tricks men use on their mobile phones to decieve their loved ones, has caused such an uproar here amongst the very moral Chinese community.
in this article it was mentioned that immediately after watching the movie, one woman wanted to check her husbands phone, and when he refused she grabbed the phone out his hands, and was, I quote; "publicly beaten senseless by him".
One woman was so shocked that her husband knew about the "taking out of batteries" trick that she filed for divorce the next day.
Good to know that China's leading Telecom has issued a statement to say that all users information is protected, however;
"should push come to shove, people can always use public telephones, and phone cards, for only 2 yuan RMB 1 minute, since THESE CALLS CAN NEVER BE TRACED" hahaha.
All ye business official adulterers rest assured!!!!!!!

More news,

A grandmother is being tried in North China for binding her grandson's feet to protect the family from the bad luck of long toes.
This was discovered when the child phoned his mother in agony to say that his grandmother was killing him.

*note, binding of feet is no longer legal in China, and it is probably not unlucky to have long toes.*

A fight occured in South China when a neighbor told his fellow resident's son she was not his real mother after a minor quarrel.

A mother is divorcing her husband because her children don't like him.

My favourite....

A wealthy business man is willing to pay anyone a salary and living expenses if they move into his home to take the place of his divorcee wife, since he can't stand his son whinning for her.
*NB: provided she has a good heart*

CHINA CRACKS ME UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
