Time to Kill
I have 5 minutes before I am officially on the clock, so I thought I would write for a few minutes...
I discovered a book I HAVE to have last night. Of Course I didn't bring that info with me today, but I marked it in the book I am reading in bed. I am going back and reading the books I wished I had time and energy for when I was in school. It is nice to be able to read things the way they want you to in school. Read through a chapter or section a couple of times to really understand what they are talking about. Who can do that when they are in college? Sheesh.
Anyway This book covers different crafts people worked on in Anglo-Saxon England. I NEED that one. The part of the book I was reading stresses that Craftsmanship in the early middle ages (before 1000) was primarily part time. Meaning that most people spent most of their time farming and only crafted things in their spare time. How like us in the SCA. It makes me think that eventually I might be able to recreate something that is in actuallity close to the quality of the period pieces.
