Our weekend started a bit early on Thursday after Campus Crusades. We went to the bonfire with some friends and just walking there was nice, the walk back was a bit more of a challenge. I was talking on the phone with Milan when my foot fell through this swampy area and I had to pass the phone on to some one else to answer right after I screamed. But of course I was fine, it just caught me off guard and it was more a gasp then a scream, I didn't want to cause any one to lose their hearing after all. It was a bit cold after that but thankfully I was dry by the time we all met up at the bean. Remember my early entry where I had bemoaned the fact that I had no time for anything? Well it was nice to just sit at the bean with Jack, Shan, Daniel, Milan and Adrian. It's amazing what talking to friends can do. I felt so much better after just being able to forget my classes for a bit.
Friday was the big Pumpkin party, exclusive invitation only...LOL! J/k!! My pumpkin..had an accident. So we won't elaborate, but I'll let you know that every one elses pumpkin came out beautifully. We had another adventure just shopping for pumpkins, the store had run out of pumpkins! But we managed to dust off the ones at the bottom barrel, which was better then craving turnips.
Saturday we went hiking to the Robledo mountains. Hiking does me good, I love it so much. I almost forgot how great it was to get lost in Mother Nature, can you believe it?! Some thing about standing in a canyon being surrounded by rock that over towers you shows you how really small you are. My memories of hiking in Colorado started returning to me as i remembered Aaron's back yard. I don't remember how many acreas they had but I do remember it being vast land complete with a cave and waterfall. I also remember this wooden home made swing that over looked a small cliff, where grass and flowers met your sight as you flew over it. ....
We went to the homecoming game afterwards. It was funny though, I'm not a big football fan. *surprise *surprise* lol, so I always bring a book along, but this time I decided to try and actually get into the game, not to mention the horrendous nagging of Jackie and Shannon*(I LOVE YOU BOTH..JUST KIDDING!)
the subtle suggestions of my two dearest friends convinced me to forgo the literature. We met our friends over there and it was exciting for the first 5 minutes after half time but then I started missing my Søren Aabye Kierkegaard. He, whom we had met on Thursday was at the game and he came to talk to us and while every one got into the game cheering for our dear aggies, he was nice enough to sit with me and discuss literature, art, philosophy, music..etc. It was much better discussing reading with some one then sitting there thinking thoughts and not having any one to discuss them with.
So moral of the story: Jackie and Shannon were wrong.
Went to Starbucks afterwards and enjoyed the atmosphere and spent the rest of the night with our friends
Sunday we had a guest pastor since Dennis is on vacation. Afterwards we went to Phoneica, the best medittarean restraunt if I have a choice of voicing my opinon. We went with Diana and her mom, and again it was nice to sit their with friends and just enjoy life. Once we finished their Diana and I went to Mesilla to see the festitivities and got caught up at Don Felix. That's where jackie and eddie met us. ...went home shortly after and got dressed. (this entry needs a second part, I've spent wayy to much space on this one!)
