Thanks, everyone, for all your warm wishes and congratulations. Being married for 38 years is easy, if you marry the right person! Not that much has changed for us, I don't think. We were at a New Year's Eve party, and at the stroke of midnight, I began singing, "Auld lang syne"! A few people looked at me like I had two (very gray) heads! When did people forget this traditional song?

When I was a little girl, growing up in a small town in western PA, we had a very close knit neighborhood. Most of the Dads were veterans of WWII, many had served together, in the same unit, during the war, and a few had even migrated to the neighborhood from a nearby farming community.
