The movie you've probably never heard of. Andy Griffith giving an oscar-worthy performance. A film that makes a statement about the sheepishness of people in general and how some of the greatest tools for the advancment of the human species have become nothing more than vehicles to sell products or keep people placated.
Huh? you say. Well, here's the scoop. "A Face In The Crowd" is a movie directed by Elia Kazan(who also directed such classics as "On The Waterfront", "East Of Eden", and "A Streetcar Named Desire" among many other notable films and introduced the world to great actors like Marlon Brando and James Dean)about the rise and fall of a man from being a drunken hobo incarcerated in the jail of a small town to becoming the wielder of incredible power from the manipulation of the John Q. Public's oh so fickle favor.
If you want more info, check the film out over at IMDb. And watch the damn thing! If you have any sort of TRUE sensibility and intelligence, this film should be in your top 10 favorite movies list and IMHO should be considered one of the greatest films of all time alongside such films as "Citizen Kane", "The Godfather" and "A Clockwork Orange".
