I've been lurking and posting a lot at the boards over at IMDb lately and I just thought I'd put in my two cents on the whole thing.
NO MORE REMAKES of GOOD movies OR SEQUELS!!!!

Also, there's the movies where they take the major premise from some older movie and change a few details and act like they've come up with something new.
Latest one of these movies: The Brave One. Premise: a woman and her boyfriend are attacked and killed leaving the woman to survive. The woman breaks and decides to get vigilante justice on those who did this to them and any others who happen into her path and try to victimize her. Just change woman to man and boyfriend to wife and daughter(although she gets raped not killed) and you've got...drumroll please... "Death Wish".
