Friends: It's been the summer of seeing *almost* everyone. Both Emily and Heather managed to squeeze in visits to the westside, and I couldn't be happier for getting to see them. And Aarshredder moved back! All is right with the world!
Family: We visited Todd's extended family in Colorado a few weeks ago. We spent five days in Dillon and kinda did a whole lot of nothing. It was fun to see relatives who I only met at our wedding (not the best getting-to-know-you time), meet for the first time the rest of the clan, and spend time with the two cutest children in the world.
Future Family: I'm scrambling to get all three required books read before we go down to PDX for the adoption seminar. I'm in the middle of The Spirit of Open Adoption and it's blowing my mind (in a *mostly* good way). It's really clarifying what "open" means, why it's for the best, but also how adoption is also always about pain...
We also just organized the garage yesterday in anticipation of adding a four-legged creature to our family. As soon as we can devote a little time to learning how to train a dog, we'll go in search of our Bobby Ellipses.
House: the aforementioned garage organizing, taking care of a backed up bathtub, a yard gone wild...Homeownership is a lot more of a full time job than I had anticipated. Don't get me wrong, I love our house, but I sometimes wish it would clean itself. But now Todd and I have to-do lists and weekly tasks ahoy, and are committed to getting shit done.
Crafting: Speaking of getting stuff done, I have two awesome knitting projects that are almost done, but finishing sucks. Pictures forthcoming when I buckle down already.
