Lazy weekend in Yerevan...

Well, there's not too much going on in my neck of the woods all the way over here in Armenia. I don't start working til Monday, so I had all day Friday and all the rest of the weekend to do absolutely nothing. It has been nice to sleep late and laze around a bit.
Otherwise the 3 amigos have been fairly adventureless these last few days. Wait, that's not true - Pifer went on an adventure yesterday. His work called him yesterday morning to ask him to come with their youth group to Lake Sevan. He packed up his swimsuit and a book and off he went. We didn't hear from him again til 10pm last night when he said the marshuka (the vans that take you all over Armenia - that is a WHOLE other entry right there. I'm trying to avoid getting in one of these vans by all means possible) that was taking them back to Yerevan from Sevan (an hour long drive, depending on the vehicle) decided to stop for the night in a place called Loosagerd so he had to stay the night there.
It was pretty hysterical. He waltzed in the door today around noon with a whole adventure to share with us. He went to the beach with a bunch of Lithuanian, Polish, and other foreign kids, and he still has no idea what the purpose of this trip was since the one boss he had met so far didn't even go with them! He laughs about his job because he thinks he has found the hippies of Armenia - leaves Ann Arbor for a couple weeks and once again finds himself with all the hippies. Pretty funny. His actual job is working with various youth groups teaching English and whatnot. Sounds like this is going to be quite an adventure.
Anyways, I'm doing pretty well. I got to spend a lot of time on my own yesterday which was nice. After Pifer jumped in the cab to go to work, Alex and I went to the Gumi shooga to get produce (YES!), and Alex bought some soujouk and is very excited to have soujouk and eggs with Pifer very soon. Once back in the city, we had lahmajoon for lunch and then I spent my afternoon and evening on my own and read almost all the way through Devil Wears Prada - man that's a good book! I'd read it once before, but it was just as good a read the second time through. I also watched some international CNN news coverage of the news of the day, especially that of the anniversary of the London bombings.
This weekend I plan to keep taking it easy and also to visit the Art Museum in Republic Square on Sunday. We finally took Pifer to the European Medical Center today to have his foot looked at. The doctor gave him some stuff for it, and if it isn't better in a couple days he'll have to have an xray. In case I didn't already mention, about 1.5 weeks ago Pifer fell Armenian dancing in the village and has been hobbling around ever since. Hopefully it's not broken! Yet, there are several ankle injuries among the guys we know over here, so the whole thing is pretty humorous.
Anyways, hope you all are doing well and that things are good back home. Miss you all!!! - *bacheegs* love, sara :)
