Change

So, yesterday's post was interesting. Some of the reactions and comments made me think a lot about the way my attitudes towards my body have changed over the years. Back in 1989, I really wished that I lived in someone else's skin. Someone beefier and stronger... someone who LOOKED different. Someone...else ( Read more... )

I think part of this problem is that we've gotten used to things being available all the time and I think that the concept that some things may not be available just because they are in season will not fly with "middle America".

I can almost hear them now, "What do you mean avocados are not in season!? They must be in season SOMEWHERE!"

Amen to all this. I was never a small kid, but I was skinny, and I was convinced that ONLY beefy people liked their own bodies. As I got into adulthood I was finally able to put on weight. And, surprise, more wasn't always better.

Clearly I have the whole white, blue eyed thing down ... but I also spent a lot of time assuming that men had to be hairy to be attractive to anyone. I'm not all that hairy. I blew a number of years on assuming I was the ugly duckling of the bear world. Waste of time. I'm fine as I am. Not that I realize that every waking moment, still, but in general, yeah.

Self awareness and comfort in your own skin are what makes someone truly beautiful, the type of beauty that lasts and grows with age. It far outweighs looks, fur, and all that external junk. It's what you look for in a man that you want to spend the rest of your life with.

But all that said, come on dude, you are like so super, sexy, OMG fine that I get fluxumed everytime I even speak to ya. You are such a major, smokin, awesome ball of supreme hotness wrapped around a creamy core of super sweet goodness that even OREOs want to be you.

I can't imagine you any other way then you are. Afro or shaved, the same person shines through. I'm glad you're realizing that.

Plus, big ol' bear or not, I think you're one hawt mutha, and I'm sure many will agree. :P

When I met you (finally) back in February, you were exactly as people said you would be...one hell of a wonderful person, and hawt to boot. You've got a great spirit that shines through. :)
