firehair28 and I are currently sitting in the comfy living room of
waya and
ottergrrl, having eaten a lovely breakfast cooked by Jamie. We are in Eastern Tennessee, which is gloriously beautiful, and I am told we will see fireflies tonight. Today we may go down to Chattanooga and see Ruby Falls, which is *inside* Lookout Mountain, and may also go see the enormous freshwater aquarium which now has added a saltwater section featuring cuttlefish, jellyfish, and other really cool invertebrates. Or we may just hang out -- we've been travelling pretty non-stop for a while. The company is pretty fabulous, after all.
The rocks in Tennessee are wildly different from those in California -- they look like ivy-covered Inca ruins or lost temples in Guatemala, except that the 'ivy' is kudzu, which is trying to eat the planet. Evrything is lush and green, and we are very close to the Great Smokies here. Fi promises to bring me back here in the fall sometime, when the leaves are turning and it's not Memorial Day Weekend. Our kindly hosts have gone off to do required Stuff, and when they return we shall decide what to do withour day. For previous installations of our travels, see
firehair28 I really needed this vacation. And (aside from locking the keys in the car *with the engine running*) it has been truly splendid. We have seen old friends, made some new ones, and travelled where I, at least, have never been before. Finest kind...
