Christmas Meme:
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I use both, paper for square rectangular gifts, bags for anything non-euclidean in shape.
2. Real tree or artificial? artificial. I think it's wasteful to cut down a living tree to decorate for a week or two.
3. When do you put up the tree? My mom's rule was 1st weekend in December. Mine is second week in December, although I just have a small tree so it's not a big deal.
4. When do you take the tree down? Early January.
5. Do you like eggnog? Meh. It'll do. Like coffee more.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? The 20 gallon aquarium my dad brought home on Xmas eve when i was in grade 7. It was the beginning of a long hobby of fish keeping.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? No.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My brother and his wife. I never know what they need, and they don't know either.
9. Easiest person to buy for? Dave.
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A hockey stick, from my aunt, when I was in grade 4. I'm one of the small minority of Canadians who don't like hockey, and I thought she knew that.
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Give them in person or mail them, but I send out very few.
12. Favorite Christmas movie? I don't really have a favorite movie, but I love Woodland Critters Christmas episode of South Park.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Late October.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? yes but only in the same year (ie. if a coworker gives me a gift card, I "recycle" it to give it to someone else for their stocking). I don't recycle from one season to the next.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? chocolates
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? coloured
17. Favorite Christmas songs? Carol of the Bells, Sleigh Ride, Wonderful Christmas Time, Come all Ye Faithful, Winter Wonderland
18. Travel for Christmas or stay home? Travel to my parents place, on Xmas eve.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Donner, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Dasher, and Nixon.
20. Angel on the treetop or a star? Bird. I put a bird on top of my tree.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas eve for Dave and I, morning for my family.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Christians who claim that you have to be one of them to enjoy the spirit of Christmas....not true by a long shot...
23. What I love most about Christmas? The generosity, peacefulness, time off, Christmas plants like Poinsettias and Jerusalem cherry, winter birds at feeders, music.
