This report in
Science Daily is interesting. It appears that humans and birds, despite being very different, share the same genes for voice and speech development.
Aside from the implications this has for using birds for medical research on speech disorders, it also fulfills one of the key predictions of Darwin's theory. Namely, that evidence of the common ancestry of life that can be seen in structures and genes that are shared and used by otherwise dissimilar creatures. It's probably also the one hundred thousandth piece of evidence that supports that pattern.
It stuns me that so many people can still believe in creationism. Do they think that every research project of every scientist on the topic of geology, biology, anthropology and genetics since the 1800's has been completely flawed or faked? Or that God is some kind of trickster that puts false signs in rocks and genes and organs to make it look like everything is related?
It's really just so insulting.
