plant puttering and spring

Mar 11, 2007 22:23

The sun and warmth today had me noticing how pekid some of my houseplants are getting, so I spent part of this afternoon re-potting and pruning back some of my houseplants.

I tossed out an old poinsettia and a rootbound spiderplant (taking someof the "spiders" off it an planting them back in the same pot with fresh soil). I trimmed back dry leaves on all my plants and took some cuttings off my Wandering Jew (i'm planning to toss the parent out after they have rooted). Also gave all the plants a good watering with dilute fertilizer.

The air outdoors was a tropical 5 C (36 F) and so I opened up two windows in my apartment to let some fresh air flow through. It helps to chase out the dusty smell that gets in here over winter.
