Rundown: A stat on the Winter Olympics, NFL thinking about changing overtime rule

Mar 01, 2010 22:31

-Some final stats on the Winter Olympics: So I did a little math on the last 3 Winter Olympics(Salt Lake 2002, Torino 2006, Vancouver 2010) and found that Team USA has won more medals(96) than any other country. Canada was tied for 3rd most with Norway(67 each). Germany was 2nd with 95.

Team USA and Canada were tied for 2nd in gold medals(28 each) behind Germany(33).

-The NFL is said to be considering changing the overtime rules for the playoffs next year. Instead of being first team to score wins, the first team with the ball has to score a touchdown to end the game. If the first team with the ball in OT scores a field goal, the other team gets the ball.

Personally, I believe that the NFL should not change that rule. The coin toss isn't really an advantage either way. It just makes the NFL overtime almost like the crappy college overtime besides gimmicky.
