Rundown: New DVD, LSU opponent set, Reaper news that further proves that the CW is run by morons

-I bought the Friday the 13th remake DVD Tuesday.

Watched it today, and honestly, I thought it was pretty good. It is essentially the type of Friday the 13th movie we grew up watching. It was pretty much a melding of the first four movies from the original movie series: Pamela Voorhees starting the killing, and being beheaded by the last person left with a young Jason watching from the woods in the first five minutes; Jason hides his face with a sack(like the second) then picks up the familiar hockey mask we all know and love; Jared Padalecki's character, Clay, is basically the guy from the fourth movie that was hunting for Jason who killed his sister in the second movie, only Clay is searching for his sister Whitney(Amanda Righetti), who disappeared after she and a group of friends had a run-in with Jason and she was taken hostage by Jason because she resembles his mother. Clay meets another group of teens, one of them being Ryan Hansen(Dick Casablancas from Veronica Mars; he's the first killed by Jason out of that group when Jason shot an arrow through his skull while the guy was driving a boat while a woman was wakeboarding topless).

My only minor complaint was that you had two girls, Whitney and Jenna(played by Danielle Panabaker from Sky High and Shark), that followed the three rules that Randy established in Scream(don't have sex, don't drink or do drugs, and don't say "I'll be right back") and Jenna dies before Jason is defeated.

The ending does remind you of the ending of the first movie.

Movie grade: 9 out of 10

-LSU will play Arkansas at 1pm Friday in the College World Series after the Razorbacks beat Virginia 4-3 in 12 innings last night. LSU only needs to win once to advance to the best of three Championship Series starting Monday while Arkansas has to win twice(Friday and Saturday).

-Some Reaper news: http://www.newsarama.com/tv/090617-the-reaper.html

No syndication deal(I would have been less likely to watch if Sock wasn't on the show), but the guys are open to doing a movie.

But the fun quotes from Bret Harrison and Tyler Labine just proves my point that the CW is run by one particular moron:

Then again, there were many who were pleasantly surprised when the CW even picked up Reaper to begin with. Among them were the show’s stars, Bret Harrison (Sam Oliver, right) and Tyler Labine (Bert “Sock” Wyzocki, left).

“Kind of, actually,” Harrison admits. “From what I heard, when they finished the pilot and were testing it, everybody raised their hand to say they liked it...except THE one person. That was a huge thing for me to hear because I didn’t really see Reaper anywhere on the CW.”

After all, sometimes the TV Gods aren't kind to the kind of witty, even intelligent programming Reaper surely was.

“Whatever,” adds Labine, who not afraid to name names. “I was just as shocked as Bret. It’s hearsay, but apparently Dawn Ostroff [the head of the CW] was not happy. Apparently the only reason she went along is because all her people liked it.”

“We basically got the show picked up because everyone surrounding the head of the network was for it,” says Harrison.

Again, nothing more needs to be said. It's like being in WWE and everybody likes your gimmick, your look, and your work except for Vince McMahon himself.

Between this and the CW switching One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl around on Mondays(OTH now at 7pm, meaning it airs opposite Heroes again and I have to tape it and watch Heroes), Dawn Ostroff needs to be fired.
