Helpful cooking tip and other things
Purple yams do not have enough starch or internal moisture to make really good potato pancakes. They should be mixed with normal sweet potato or normal potato for best results. Also, they do not remain sufficiently purple when cooked.
Good weekend, otherwise. Quality hanging out, good yoga, some stellar napping, and a viewing of Evil Roy Slade. I also got the oil changed in the Lexus, but I didn't get around to working on the Buell. I have some air scoops, heat shields, and an oil cooler fan kit to fabricate and/or install. Not that I really have to worry about overheating anymore this season, but I should get it done anyway.
I also started reading Leviathan, by Scott Westerfeld. So far, it's quite engaging.
