Crappy werewolf AU you say? Why, beansidhe_baby, tell me more...
So I've been having more ideas for a werewolf!John fic. All I could think of initially was a scene or series of scenes where he's training Gladstone (and is very good at it, for obvious reasons). I think that human!Sherlock possibly starts getting conflicting signals about who the Alpha in 221B actually is and he's not entirely sure how he feels about that.
World building wise, I was thinking of going down the cheesy cliche route of "werewolves are considered subhuman". Also, John was born a were but his parents were both human (recessive gene on both sides from ages back, or somesuch). Daddy Watson thinks Mummy was slagging around like the proverbial bitch in heat and even when bloodwork reveals John is his son, he never gets over the shock and is very distant and borderline emotionally abusive.
Look, I know it sounds like a really awful B movie crossed with a truly appalling soap opera, with some potentially very unfortunate parallels with real world racism, but... I think I can make it not completely awful??
