Everything seems to fade when I see her face

HELLO! Seattle was so much fun, holy shit. Amy and I were only there for like 3 days, but it felt like a lot longer because we managed to squeeze in so much awesome! I'll post pictures later because I'm too lazy to resize and upload the ones I want (I totally took almost 500 pictures in 3 days btw, idk how that happened) BUT HEY READ THIS IT'S VERY EXCITING AND LONG.

On Friday, I got up super early, like 4am, to catch our bus at 6. Yuck. Amy and I bussed to Vancouver and then over the border (which was nerve-wrecking and made me feel like I was smuggling drugs even though I wasn't at all) and then to Seattle! Thanks to a really handy map that Amy made, we found our hotel relatively easily from the bus depot, and it was so classy! We left pm immediately for our first concert though, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, The Maine and Every Avenue. I think we got kind of lost looking for a bus that went near the El Corazon, but we got there eventually.

The line was longish, because it was sold out, and it was really cold and rainy and that sucked. Inside though, we basically died from heat. There were so many people and everyone was all psyched and jumpy, so after the first band we were both soaked with sweat, and everyone else was too. Nice. Every Avenue were really good, which I didn't really expect because out of the four, I was least excited for them. The Maine were next, and they were kind of disappointing. I love their songs so much, but live they were meh.

Mayday Parade were amazingggg, omg. Amy and I were up by the barrier at the side for them, so I could actually see most of their set. The security guard there was such a dick though, he kept pouring water on the same 4 or 5 people instead of speading it around. I hated him. Anyways, All Time Low were last and soooo good. Their set was really long and fun and jumpy. And they were super funny, as usual. When they played Lullibies, Alex changed the words from 'Sing me to sleep' to 'Show me your boobs', which was hilarious but also disturbing since almost every girl in there was 14 or something. w/e. We ending up walking back to our hotel at midnight because we couldn't find a phone to call a taxi. WE DIDN'T GET RAPED THOUGH SO IT WAS OKAY!

The next day we went to Kate's house, where we were staying for the next two nights. I was kind of nervous to meet Kate, because her and Amy are super good friends and if we didn't like each other it would be super awkward. But she was awesome, and we got along really well, so that was good. We went to Target and Amy bought 3 boxes of Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch, which we don't have here in Canada. It's so delicious. Theeen we went to Seattle Centre, and we were going to go up the Space Needle, but the line was huge so we played lazer tag and got balloon animals instead: a princess hat*~ with a heart on it and a butterfly that's didn't really look like a butterfly with a handle.

We headed to the El Corazon again for Ludo, The Higher, Eye Alaska and The Graduate. There were a lot less people there than for ATL, which was expected. We got a spot up front though, so that was awesome. The Graduate were good, but not that memorable. Eye Alaska was very memorable, but not in a good way. Their lead singer was so laughable. He had a winter jacket on for the first few songs, and when he took it off, he was wearing a backpack underneath. Seriously. WHO WEARS A WINTER JACKET OVER A BACKPACK?! Also, he had glasses without lenses and kept making weird head movements that made him look like a turtle. The backpack was his shell. Also, their music was terrible. ALL IN ALL THEY WERE AMAZING, OBV.

Theeen The Higher! We decided to give the lead singer Seth the princess heart balloon hat, and I was in charge of passing it to him, and that was very exciting. Kate had put the butterfly one on Ludo's van hitch thing before the show, but we brought the heart one in especially for Seth. After a couple songs, he noticed it and grabbed it, but didn't understand it was a hat, so he put it on an amp behind him and said he'd keep it forever, which was a lie but that's okay because the princess balloon got more action later in the night, just you wait. Anyways, The Higher were super fun and wheeee! AND THEY COVERED NSYNC'S BYE BYE BYE OMG.

Ludo were really good too, and hilarious. They had a lot more fans there than I expected them too. Except this one guy, who was yelling out fuck you during a slower song, and the lead singer totally called him out. He named him Joe Heckler, and said he was lonely and unsuccessful and an alcoholic. That was pretty cool. Also they covered the Ghostbusters theme song, which was so awesome. As for the princess balloon, Ludo's drummer tried to wear it, but he put his head throught the heart instead of the head place, so he placed it on the front of his drum kit, where it fell onto the ground somewhere during their set, and the guitarists were kicking it around for a while. It was very entertaining.

OMG OKAY. Before the Ludo show, we were hanging out outside the venue, and me and Amy were showing Kate our Slow Five invention (based off of the High Five) and somehow we combined it with that one murder mystery game where the killer shakes people's hands and scratches them? Anyways, we ended up like, making a claw with our hands and asking each other if they wanted to shake on it. It sounds weird when I type it out but trust me it was hilarious. It became a running joke throughout the trip and it was amazing.

The next day we were lazy and stayed in bed and watched Batman Begins in the morning, and then we went to the Seattle aquarium. It was cool, but I'm pretty sure we spent more time getting there than we actually spent at the aquarium, it felt pretty small. There were sea otters though! We stopped at McDonalds for lunch and acted totally retarded and that was fun. As we were walking to the El Corazon, Amy and I kept getting distracted by insanely tall buildings, and also we went into some mall just to ride the escalator.

There were even less people at El Corazon for Steel Train, Dear and the Headlights, Forgive Durden and Man Without Wax that night, like 20 people were in line when doors opened I think. It reminded me a lot of our local shows here, because it was so small and no one was all that psyched. Very different crowd from the first night, that's for sure. I expected it to be bigger, mostly because Seattle is Forgive Durden's hometown, and they feel like a fairly big band to me because I've been listening to them for a while, but w/e. Man Without Wax were okay, the lead singer seemed kind of awkward though and I felt bad for him.

Forgive Durden was amazing, but idg at all why they played second. THEY SEEM SO MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT TO ME, IDK. When I first heard about the show, I assumed they would be headlining, but no. They were really good, but no one was that excited for them it seemed. I'm sad they didn't play anything off Wonderland, even though I understand why they didn't. omg, and Nic Newsham came on stage to sing his part in Meet The King, and TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT. He like, reached out and ruffled my hair during the song? I WAS MILDLY ALARMED. I thought he was trying to like, pull me out of the crowd by my head, idk. It was hilarious and frightening at the same time, obv.

Dear and the Headlights were amazing too. Amy and Kate were lame though and sat in the back for their set, so I was all alone. They were so good though, it made me love them more. There were a couple songs I wish they had played, but they were fun and surprisingly super active on stage even though their music isn't jumpy like some of the other bands we saw. Someone offered them $100 to play Skinned Knees and Gapped Teeth, and they did, but I think they accepted drinks after the show instead of the $100. I joined Amy and Kate in the back for Steel Train, because I'm neutral on them and we had to leave before their set was over anyways. They were okay, but omg their lead singer was so easy to make fun of. Before their set, Kate went to have a nap in the corner, and came back to tell us that D Blaise and the rest of This Providence were watching her and it was awkward and hilarious.

We had to get up early the next day to catch our bus, and I was not stoked on that at all. It was okay though, both Amy and I fell asleep for small periods of time on the way back. The border was less scary than the first time, although I think it was a longer wait. The bus was really boring, as usual, but thinking back on it now it didn't feel that long. idk. I got home at like 5 last night, and although I planned to go to sleep really early, I managed to stay up until midnight. I have a ton of homework and I haven't done any of it. Ugh ugh ugh. This weekend was amazing though, and I had soooo much fun. Going to school tomorrow is going to be so boring after all this awesome stuffed into 3 days.

Pictures later this week probably, this is long but idc.
