I wasn't aware that dropping eggs was a school subject now. School is so interesting!

It gets quite competitive, too; whose egg will survive? Whose will perish? It's life and death, physics!

It's so different from when I went!

...

What is [pardon him mangling the word] "fiz...icks..."? Is it a martial art with eggs?

Only in the toughest schools. And some will even use lead weights and incline planes! PHYSICS, lad! It's what makes the world go 'round!

Oh, lead weights could be interesting to use in class. I wonder if I should use them on Sokka-kun the next time we go training.

And I thought the gods made the world turn.

Centripetal force---there's an experiment.......Never mind. And they do, in their way---through PHYSICS.

Oh, so this is like magic? I see!

[Sorry, Scotty. Man of the old times, has never even seen a moving vehicle that didn't require a horse or ox to pull it.]

Not magic. Why don't you sign up for the course if you're interested?

But you just said the gods used it to turn the world.

[ffff, Okita just laughs] I'm afraid I'm far too old for schooling now.

No one is ever too old to learn. There are certain physical laws of nature that guide and direct the forces of the universe. We can observe, measure, and record them, and use them to make good decisions regarding engineering and design.

[Okita is kind of lost now.

....

Yeah, really lost.]

...Oh. Maybe I'll come see the egg drop then~ That sounds fun.

Aye! The egg drop! And perhaps you'll become a fan of the physical sciences, lad! Also? It's exciting!

If it would help me in my training, perhaps. It does sound exciting though! I hope the eggs survive.

That is the nature of the egg drop: some eggs survive; some we mourn later when I play a solemn funeral march on the pipes.

You really mourn the eggs?

No, but a bit of pageantry never hurt anyone, did it.
