Yeah, we do need better brand awareness.
Spent the last two weeks marathoning The Mentalist. Spent the past two days digging through LJ and FF.net looking for Mentalist fic. A few observations:
1. There does not seem to be any crack fic in the fandom. Sadness.
2. Did not know that Owain Yeoman is Welsh and has an accent. Now I can't watch scenes between Rigsby and Jane without trying to hear if the actors slip up.
3. Am liking Grace and Amanda Righetti way more than I thought I would. Please don't turn into Audrey "I like to talk about our relationship at the worst possible times" Raines.
4. Am I really 'shipping it if I can't see a happy ending for Jane/Lisbon in canon and can't buy it in fic either (or at least the fic that I'm reading)? It's like Goren/Eames all over again. I love the friendship and banter and I want to 'ship it, but I just can't see it working at all.
4b. Speaking of 'shipping, part of the problem may be the portmanteau -- Jisbon. Need I say more? And the alternative isn't any better -- Jello. What? Where did that come from? I have yet to come across anything more ridiculous than the 'ship names from when I flirted briefly with Mutant X fandom, but at least those sort of made sense.
5. Anyone on the f-list in the fandom and can point me to some good fic? I've went through all of FF.net and most of LJ and of the (nearly) 1,500 fics out there, there's maybe 10 that I read all the way through and of those I only really liked (and would rec) about 5 of them.
6. Having the incredible urge to re-watch Robin Tunney in Empire Records. Also, with the new bangs, I think she looks like Eve Myles in Children of Earth and now cannot unsee Lisbon = Gwen and Jane = Jack. Lisbon totally needs a Rhys!
7. Why do I have the urge to write Lisbon and Jane meeting Donna and the Doctor? Actually, why do I think every fandom should have at least one crossover where the characters meet Donna and the Doctor?
